Mavis Parris: Charabancs

Mavis was born in 1940 in Fulham, London. She attended a local special school from age five to age sixteen and from there went on to a job with the Gas Board.

They weren't really ambulances, they were like dark green charabancs but they didn’t have seats across, they just had a bench all the way around the edge that you sat on and clung onto if you went around corners ‘cause there was no safety straps or anything like that.
