Deborah Sowerby: Left Behind
Deborah was born in 1949 in London. She spent some time in hospital as a young child and then was sent to a residential special school in East Sussex at the age of five, staying there until she was sixteen and then going on to Art School.
Here Deborah talks about moving class and leaving her friends behind.

I didn't expect anyone to like me, I always imagined that people didn't really like me, but I had, you know I was apparently popular, I was never on my own, I enjoyed my friends, but then my friends, I was moved into a different class and left my friends behind effectively.Explore more
