Ajay Yadav: Being Myself


Ajay was born in India in 1977. He attended a special school in East London from the age of five to sixteen and then went on to a mainstream sixth form college and on to university from there.

Here Ajay describes support and encouragement from his family making a difference.

Yeah, I come from a small family, there's only my mum and my brother and, they were very supportive in terms of, what I wanted so I could have done anything, but they really wanted me to go to university and get an education and, you know and having a job kind of, gave me the confidence to be the person I am now, really, be able to have, you know, get out and be in the public and be with disabled people and non-disabled people and, just, just be myself equally.
