Esther Annenberg: Going on the Trams
Here Etty describes going on the trams with her brothers.
TranscriptMy brothers and I used to have a lovely time, you know. They used to say, “Come on Ett, we’ll, go on the tram”. Do you remember the trams?
You used to go upstairs and they used to sway. And you used to swing backwards and forwards I used to think that was lovely. Funny, isn’t it? And a shilling all day. Yeah, you used to pay a shilling and go on the tram anywhere you like. Mm. And if we had that shilling and we could go, it was lovely.
