Well, it was crowded, ‘cause we had to sleep in the same bed with my cousins. We’d sleep head to toe in the bed so it was very crowded, ‘cause when my parents first came to Birmingham it was very hard to get accommodation and I remember my mum telling us the stories of when she was – her and my dad and grandfather trying to get accommodation, the signs were, you know, 'No Dogs, No Blacks, No Irish'.Explore more
