Simone Aspis: An Open or Shut Door


Simone was born in 1969 in Dollis Hill, London. She went to a residential special school in Cheshire from the age of four until sixteen. From there she went on to college and then university.

I think what education does, it either shuts a door or opens a door in terms of how you see the world, how much control you think you can have and what impact you think you can have on the world. So if you think the world is always this way, or that way, and you feel you have no – feel that is it, you can’t change it, then I imagine you’re in a – you know, you are subject to – at everybody else’s whim.
