Lynda Hesketh: Bunking Off

Lynda was born in 1962 in Chester. She attended her local mainstream primary and secondary schools, having a home tutor for a year in between, following time in hospital.

We did have trips in my secondary school and I can remember having the day off and bunking off because I didn't think they were going to help me, and no one offered to help me, so I had the day off so I didn’t have to go. I just bunked off and said to my mum, ‘I don’t want to go, can I have the day off?’ I didn’t go into school. I also did that at college as well, I didn't go in because I didn’t think they were going to help me, so I didn’t go.
